More bad news poring in for the Indian cricket as cricketer YuvrajSingh has been diagnosed with cancer reportedly. He isundergoing chemotherapy in the United States. Yuvraj Singh has been the star player for team India cricket and helping to win the world cup. Yuvraj Sing has been the captain for Pune Warriors and was likely to miss out on IPL season 5. Now with his cancer detection, situation looks serious not just for Indian team but IPL as well.

Next year 2012, the nine teams in the fray will play 16 matches each. According to sources of Times of India, this means each team is now going to play eight home games. There will also be an additional four play-off matches which will take the total tally of games in the tournament to 76.

The tournament is scheduled to be played from April 4 to May 27. With the play-off matches to be held in Bangalore and Chennai.

Meanwhile, the governing council of the IPL has decided to increase the numbers of players allowed in each squad. From the existing number of 30, IPL teams can go up to 33 players per squad. There will also be 11 foreign players instead of 10.

Importantly, the 2012 auction will be held in January and each team will get a purse of $2 million. The trading window will be operational from December 15, 2011 to January 20, 2012. Also, it has been decided no uncapped player will be paid more than Rs 30 lakh.

This year the Pune team – Pune Warriors – will most likely have their own home ground in Gahunje near Pune.

It is likely that the IPL teams would be auctioned in 2012 to accomodate all the players. Await further for details related to IPL T20 the season 5 of Indian Premier League.

So many people are asking questions like where to watch IPL matches online and IPL cricket live score. People are also asking questions like what time is the IPL match in IST or Indian standard timing . So I was trying to find out if I can get a good widget for cricket to add on my wordpress blog. My google search earned me good results and I was able to find a simple solutions to display current live IPL results on my own blog.
A few of the widgets did not work but the widget box gave me the easiest options..

But I am not sure what the widget will show when the matches are not live. But nevertheless a very good widget to use during the cricket matches of IPL in South Africa – The IPL Season 2. Currently I am viewing the first match of IPL between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Superkings. Each of the IPL team captains have played excellent and a pretty good beginning to the IPL Season 2

Cricinfo is one of the best place for cricket updates. Though the website is not that user friendly or easy to navigate, it serves the purpose by giving the latest scores online. Any cricket fan can follow the scores across the cricketing world from a single window and also gives a easy facility to keep a track of the forth coming cricket matches and cricket results. The website gives cricket updates of variety of cricket games like ICC World Cup Qualifiers, Indian Premier League, County Cricket, Current and Future cricket Tours, Match/series archive etc.

As far as IPL is concerned they have launched a mini portal at http://tinyurl.com/df29zg . Through this mini portal they have tried to bring the sime liveliness as we feel while watching the games. It has interesting features like live chat with Cricinfo editors Sambit Bal and Dileep Premachandran , or the mischief gal feature where it focuses on – Diary of a cheerleader. The section is very well managed by Rebecca Lee. She is a Part of the team of Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Mischief Gals cheerleader squad for the second season of the IPL in South Africa.  Rebecca Lee has performed with and instructed for one of the largest cheer and dance companies in the world, Varsity Spirit Corporation and Universal Cheerleaders Association, for seven years. Her insight and live blogging updates will be one of the good features to watch for on cricinfo. 

So in short www.cricinfo.com should be a good place to browse around during the IPL. Also if you are looking for live cricket scores from google search , simple go to google and search for [cricket] and you will immediately see a summary of the current cricket matches scores. Currently the website provides links to the recent news and happenings related to IPLT20. A good RSS feed helps and allows a user to look for and add RSS feeds for the cricket sport. The team tracker is an excellent widget provided which gives a user friendly option for a particular cricket fan to track the respective teams. The video section of the website makes it an attractive feature for the users and allows a preview of lot of interesting news of iplt20 . A screen wise display of the photos is a good component and displays a good usability aspect of the website. We are hoping that as the games proceed we would be able to see new features appearing on the website along with the live telecast of IPLT20

Overall a rating of 8 out of 10 for the complete website.
