Chikhali the Next real estate destination near Pune

Honestly, I’d never even heard of Chikhali until a few months ago, when my friends started talking about it, and a few went ahead and booked flats in a township called River Residency.

So I decided to find out what makes Chikhali tick, and boy, was it was an eye opener!

Chikhali, an erstwhile village, has, in the last couple of years, come within the ambit of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation ( PCMC). Since then its fortunes have soared dramatically, thanks to the tremendous infrastructural development PCMC has already begun to implement in these parts, on the same lines as the development that has changed forever the face of the former predominantly Industrial township of Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Multi-lane roads, flyovers, green zones, water supply and drainage facilities… all seem to be falling into place. In addition, availability of hundreds of acres of land at affordable prices have seen big time Builders make a beeline for Chikhali, and several projects of different shapes and sizes are coming up in this once sleepy backwater.

The location, too, is marvelous. Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Mahindra, Bajaj are some of the automobile giants who have set up plants in Chakan, a few kilometers to the North as the crow flies. To the West are the Software Park and the planned Deer Safari Park at Talawade, and a little beyond that is the Sai Baba Temple near Dehu Road. To the South are Tata Motors and Bajaj Auto, and to the East is the240 acre International Exhibition and Convention Centre planned at Moshi.

With such blue chip neighbours, property values are certain to zoom, so I’m off to grab a piece of the action while it is still within my reach.
