Posted on January 29th, 2014 Dimakh No comments

For the IPL Auctions in the month of February at Bangalore , the list of players is out and we have a total of 233 players going under the hammer.

On Monday, a register of capped players, has been released by the BCCI to the franchises. This register has a total of 233 names, which consists of players from 10 countries.  These include:

    • India – 46
    • Australia – 46
    • Sri Lanka – 39
    • West Indies – 29
    • South Africa – 28
    • New Zealand – 18
    • England -11
    • Zimbabwe – 8
    • Bangladesh – 7
    • Netherlands – 1

Among the 233, only 31 cricketers have attracted the highest base price of Rs 2 crore. 11 Indian capped players are in the Rs 2 crore club while 10 are from Australia.

The list of uncapped players have not been released as yet.

The IPL has also released the base prices of these capped players, which range anywhere from Rs 30 lakh to Rs 2 crore.

    Base Prices:

    • Seasoned campaigners like Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Yusuf Pathan, Jacques Kallis, George Bailey, Mitchell Johnson, Kevin Pietersen, Mahela Jayawardene, Mike Hussey, Brendon McCullum and Tilakaratne Dilshan have kept their price at Rs. 2 crores.
    • Some non-marquee players like Pragyan Ojha, Ashish Nehra, Manoj Tiwary, Amit Mishra, Praveen Kumar, Robin Uthappa, Murali Vijay, James Pattinson, Mitchell Starc, Ross Taylor, Shaun March, Brad Hodge, Brad Haddin, Angelo Mathews and Samit Patel have also backed themselves for the top-bracket of Rs 2 crores.
    • Alex Hales, despite being the World number 1 in the ICC T20 rankings for batsman, has not really established himself in the other formats of the game. Neither is he a renowned player of spin bowling which you expect in the IPL. So, it has come up as a surprise that he has priced himself at Rs 2 crores.
    • Corey Anderson, who has been touted as the biggest thing in the forthcoming auction has undervalued himself at just Rs 1 crore placing himself in the third rung.
    • Some Mumbai players like Pinal Shah, Wasim Jaffer, Ramesh Powar, Abhishek Nayar have all priced themselves at just Rs 30 lakh.
    • The base price of uncapped players are yet to be released, although it has been reported that it will range from 10 to 30 lakhs.

The auction will be conducted by Richard Madley, a professional auctioneer from England who has conducted each of the previous IPL player auctions. The proceedings will be telecast live on the SONY SIX HD and SONY SIX channels.

Narendra Modi has been nominated as the PM candidate by BJP for the forth coming Loksabha elections in India in May 2014. And amongst the complete bunch of PM’s in waiting, he seems to be the perfect candidate. All discussions about L K Advani have been closed. Various other BJP prime ministerial candidates like Sushma Swaraj, Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley were also in the ring but no body put forth any claim against Narendra Modi.

Narendra Modi – Known as NaMo popularly in the social media circle has been portrayed as the perfect solution for all problems of India – here is a short synopsis from his official website and you can read further details on his website -

English: Narendra Modi in Press Conference

Narendra Modi BJP PM candidate Elections 2014

Born in September, 1950 at Vadnagar, a small town in Mehsana district of North Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi grew up in a culture that instilled in him the values of generosity, benevolence and social service. During the India-Pak war in the mid sixties, even as a young boy, he volunteered to serve the soldiers in transit at railway stations. In 1967, he served the flood affected people of Gujarat. Endowed with excellent organizational capability and a rich insight into human psychology, he served in Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and played a prominent role in various socio-political movements in Gujarat. As any politician he has his positives and negatives

    Positives of Narendra Modi

    • As the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has done magic and commands a hold on the development and growth of Ahmedabad and entire Gujarat.
    • He has revolutionised e-governance  and brought a total transparency for the common man
    • The GDP growth rate in Gujarat has been 11.05% in the past few years
    • Got highest investment coming in from outside India amongst all other states in India
His masterstroke of putting Gujarat on the global map essentially is ongoing campaign called the Vibrant Gujarat that truly transforms Gujarat into one of the most preferred investment destinations. The 2013 Vibrant Gujarat Summit drew participation from over 120 nations of the world, a commendable feat in itself.
    Negatives of Narendra Modi
    • The strongest negative aspect of Modi has been his connection with Godhra Riots
    • His Dictatorial way of handling things (Some say this is what India needs :) )
    • Has never been a National leader and may not be good at handling National issues
    • The minority muslim may not support his vision and mission
Here is what others have to say about Narendra Modi : Reviews about Narendra Modi
Narendra Modi has a lot of negatives but his humble origins are a positive some of us can’t claim:
    Omar Abdullah
Narendrabhai is like my brother. All of us want to see him become the Prime Minister. On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I hope our wishes would come true.”
    - Lata Mangeshkar, Bharat Ratna renowned singer

Gujarat should be a role-model for other states. When agricultural growth rate in the country was hardly around 4 per cent, it was 10 per cent in Gujarat, because of Modi ji’s “firmness” about development. Modiji is a true icon that people look forward to follow. He is a true icon for the India’s youth

    - Chetan Bhagat, Best-selling novelist

I have been impressed by the development in Gujarat. Seeing everyone happy and content gives me immense pleasure. The best man for the country should be the PM, good man (Narendra Modi) is standing next to me.

    - Salman Khan, Renowned actor

I have been told that when he was young, Shri Narendra Modi wanted to become a Sanyasi. He is a Sanyasi at heart. He is a Teetotaler.  He does not drink, does not smoke, he is a vegetarian. He is a prolific writer and a poet! Above all he is a doer! The world is blessed not by men who talk of doing things but men who do things. And Shri Modi is one of them! His heart is rich in dreams and aspirations and we pray that they all may be fulfilled in the service of India! We need leaders with character, and Shri Modi is one of them.

    - Dada Vaswani, Head, Sadhu Vaswani Mission

Narendrabhai is an inspiration for the youth and a person who has always emphasized on education’s role in self-development – at 3rd Convocation Ceremony of PDPU.

    - Shri Mukesh Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Industries

Modi ji does not govern from AC rooms but out there among his people in the sun and dust.

  • Mehr Tarar Journalist Lahore Pakistan

Posted on January 20th, 2014 Dimakh No comments

Out of curiosity I was looking for the Pakistani Journalist who shot in fame for known or unknown reasons.

Twitter made her famous and so did the recently departed soul Sunanda Pushkar wife of Shashi Tharoor Union minister of India.

So I checked her twitter profile which says - Mehr Tarar @MehrTarar A mom. Former Op-ed Editor; Daily Times, Pakistan. Columnist. Veritas vos liberabit. Words matter. RTs are whatever I decide them to be! Lahore, Pakistan

Mehr Tarar Pakistani Journalist from Lahore Twitter Account

8-bit Twitter Logo (Photo credit: The Logo Smith)

The last tweet was obviously the recently most circulated tweet about the shocking news of Sunanda Pushkar’s death.

She has a large fan following on twitter and she mostly seems to be interested in India and politics of India including politicians. She is following the India Elections 2014 and looks like has a lot of knowledge about politicians like Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi and more.

Now to know more about her link with Shashi Tharoor and was she one of the reason behind the death of Sunanda Pushkar, I guess no one will ever know and its best that the story died with Sunanda.

Few of the friends of Sunanda Pushkar are convinced that she went in depression and eventually died because of the stress caused by Mehr Tarar the journalist from Lahore Pakistan with whom she believed her husband had a close connection.

read a few experts from DNA below -

Sunanda’s close friends, with whom she had spoken to over the past two days, said she was highly depressed. “She was crying and wailing on the phone when she talked to me. She had been suffering from Lupus and of late was also diagnosed with stomach TB. She was on medicine,” a close friend of Sunanda told dna news paper.

The friend said Sunanda asked her if she knew of any cellphone expert who could retrieve some old BBM messages, and that she suspected Tharoor was hiding many things from her. The friend said Sunanda mentioned one message Tharoor had exchanged with Meher Tarar, the Pakistani journalist. “One message, she suspected, was that Tharoor was planning to leave her after the elections,” the friend said.

So who knows when we will know about the true relations between between Mehr Tarar and Shashi Tharoor ??

  • Elections in India 2014

Posted on January 18th, 2014 Dimakh No comments

The present Lok Sabha which is the 15th Lok Sabha will automatically dissolve in May 2014, and it surprisingly survived all the ups and downs. The congress government suffered a lot of setbacks with the strongest being corruption, but so far no single party or opposition was strong enough to bring the government down.
But now congress has to work the hardest to regain its shares, seats and most importantly confidence from people to get reelected.

English: Image of Narendra Modi at the World E...

    Narendra Modi  (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

BJP has emerged as a strong opposition now with the official PM candidate as Narendra Modi. He has established a strong hold in Gujarat and has shown tremendous development and results in his state. People are hoping, that he will use his same magic wand and create an effect across India.

The AAP party has also emerged as a tough competition and is giving both congress and BJP a run for its money PUN INTENDED. AAP with its “broom” wiped out congress from the Delhi elections and gave a jolt to 15 years running Chief Minister Sheila Dixit.

The Dates for the India elections 2014 are yet to be announced but most probably the voting in various states will spread over 2 months of April 2014 and May 2014. So the exact schedule of elections 2014 or the dates of elections 2014 should be announced in the month of february.

But because of the general elections in India 2014, school exams may get affected and will carry extra burden in organizing elections as well as conduct school and college exams. The 2014 Lok Sabha general elections will also disrupt the IPL pepsi season 7 schedule and the event may be forced to be partially shifted out side India. In the year 2009 the event was shifted to South Africa because of security concerns with the general elections happening in the same time.

  • Sunanda Pushkar Shashi Tharoor Twitter and Delhi

Posted on January 18th, 2014 Dimakh No comments

The shocking and surprising news of the death of Sunanda Pushkar, wife of union minister Shashi Tharoor surfaced late evening and within seconds twitter was blazing with tweets from celebrities, politicians, common people (aam aadmi) and all twitteratis across the globe. All speculations went haywire with first reports of suicide, poisoning, murder and then other issues surfaced with natural death, heart attack, stomach TB complications, depressions etc. Both of them were staying in Leela Hotel , a five star property in Delhi. Sunanda and Shashi Tharoor had checked into the Leela Hotel on Thursday as their home was being painted. Sunanda was reportedly allergic to paint and dust and therefore checked into the hotel on her return from Kerala on Thursday. The couple were due to check out on Saturday morning, The Indian Express reported.

The issue of divorce, Shashi Tharoors affair with Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar had just been making rounds on twitter 24 hours before the incident and then this sudden tragedy stuck.
It’s not even 12 hours since the time the news was released but after reading various tweets and comments it seems, the people on their own have already done the postmortem, forensic, police enquiry and without proof already given their own judgements as lawyers and judges !! This time the TV media as usual has been playing the same old tapes of their marriage and to add to that, showing screen shots of their twitter pages !!

The worst part of all this is again Delhi, capital of the country India, is again in news for yet another death case. The political arena is blazing with whispers and all political parties trying their best to earn the brownie points looking at the elections with a congress MP and a union minister being the center point of all this unfortunate drama.

We will have to wait and see what turns out from the postmortem by AIMMS doctors , police forensic and other reports but for sure Sunanda Pushkar , Shashi Tharoor , twitter and Delhi will keep trending for days together.

Before her death – this is what Sunanda Pushkar had to say

Pushkar’s statement to Economic Times: “Our accounts have not been hacked and I have been sending out these tweets. I cannot tolerate this. This is a Pakistani woman who is an ISI (Inter Services Intelligence) agent, and she is stalking my husband. And you know how men are. He is flattered by the attention. I took upon myself the crimes of this man during IPL (Indian Premier League). I will not allow this to be done to me. I just can’t tolerate this. I have nothing more to say,” she said, speaking on the phone.

Shashi Tharoor had claimed on twitter that his twitter account had been hacked, but his now dead wife had categorically said that it was not the case.

Pushkar has admitted that it was she who sent out the tweets, and Tarar has responded saying that Pushkar is ‘out of her mind’. And within hours after this Sunanda Pushkar was found dead.

A few tweets from Twitter celebrities

What the hell. Sunanda. Oh my God. I just woke up and read this. I’m absolutely shocked. This is too awful for words. So tragic I don’t know what to say. Rest in peace,Sunanda. @MehrTarar

Extending our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Sunanda Pushkar Tharoor. Hard to accept she is no more with us  @MPNaveenJindal

Sunanda Pushkar Tharoor dead.Sad news.My heartfelt condolences to her son and Mr ShashiTharoor.May her soul rest in peace. @drharshvardhan

Shashi Tharoor’s son has tweeted asking the media to leave his family alone. So many people are tweeting at him that his Twitter handle has started trending in Mumbai – as reported by

  • IPL Players auction 2014 Bangalore

Posted on January 18th, 2014 Dimakh No comments

The auction of season 7 IPL 2014 will be held in Bengalaru Bangalore on February 12 and 13 , 2014. This year many big players would be in the contesting ring and many franchisees would be looking at grabbing the top players. With teams like Delhi having their entire team options open would be spending a lot of money to get the right players and strengthen the team options. Pune franchisee Sahara being out of the race, many more players would be up for auction.

All the previous actions have been in USD but now this year the auction would be held in Indian Rupees.

As per Wiki – the revised rules and player retention is as follows

On 24 December 2013, the IPL Governing Council finalised the Player Regulations for the 2014 season.[3] All teams will be allowed to retain a maximum of five players (at most four Indian capped players) and the rest of the players will go into the auction pool.[4] Retention of players would reduce the teams’ salary cap by a fixed amount, regardless of the players’ actual salaries. Each team has a starting salary cap of INR60 crore.

This season’s auction will see the introduction of several new rules. First, all player fees will be denominated in Indian rupees but overseas players may choose to be paid in another currency. Second is the “rights to match”, which allows teams to purchase a player from their 2013 squad in the auction by matching the highest bid. The number of “rights to match” depends on the amount of players the team retained.[5] Third, the players’ salaries will not include their fees for participation in the Champions League Twenty20. Teams who qualify will pay each player who represents them an additional 10% of his IPL fee. Previously, players who qualified for the CLT20 with their IPL team had to forfeit 20% of their IPL salary to represent another team.[6]

Player Salary cap deduction Salary Cap Deduction in USD
    First INR12.5 crore US$ 2.02 m
    Second INR9.5 crore US$ 1.53 m
    Third INR7.5 crore US$ 1.21 m
